Party On!

I love parties!  This Friday evening, we will be hosting a party here at Little Prince for our amazing hardworking crew.  We do this each year to celebrate and honor their arduous work and achievements over the past year.  They are the planters and the waterers, the fertilizers, the weeders, and the cleaners. They are the shippers and the primpers. They are the taggers, boxers and the drivers.  We could not operate without them.  When you receive the beautiful plants we grow here, be mindful of people who produced them.
Another party I’m happy to announce is one that some of you are invited to.  On October 6th, we will be hosting an all-day open house for our customers who are landscapers or landscape designers.  This will be an event where you can come any time during the day, starting at 7:15 am for coffee, doughnuts and other goodies.  We will be giving tours all day long and will be serving a luncheon if you want to come between 11am and 2pm.  We want you to see every aspect of our production, from propagation to shipping.  We want you to notice how clean it is a Little Prince.  Our sidewalks, driveways and greenhouses are SO CLEAN you could eat lunch off of them!  Just kidding…but they are REALLY clean!  We will be having a drawing for some awesome prizes!  It’s going to be a fun event.  If you’d like to attend, please use our Facebook events page to sign up, or send an email to [email protected].
If you are feeling sorry for yourself that you are NOT a landscaper or landscape designer, fear not!  We will be holding a similar event for our Garden Center folks coming up in February.  That will be a perfect time for you to see what’s on the menu for spring of 2018.  It’s our plan that these events will become annual events that you’ll look forward to attending year after year.
If the whole “big party scene” is not how you roll, we are always willing to give private tours or let you wander around on your own.  Just give us a heads up a couple days in advance if possible and we’d be delighted to show you around.
I hope these events give you something fun to look forward to.  While the ‘dog days of summer’ officially ended August 11th, we are still sweltering in the heat nearly every day.  I found myself looking forward to fall and winter today.  A rainy day with a pot of hot soup on the stove sounds lovely right now.  I’m looking forward to the fall rains to put an end to the fires that are making our lives miserable in the northwest right now.  The smoke is thick today from the Eagle Creek fire burning in the Columbia Gorge.  I can’t imagine a fire ‘Jumping” the gorge, but apparently that happened last night.  I’m also looking forward to getting beyond Hurricane season, as Texans begin to assess the damage from Hurricane Harvey, and Puerto Ricans, Cubans and Floridians brace for a hot mess named Irma.  On a lighter note, I’m looking forward to the next season of Game of Thrones!  How on earth will fans cope with the eighteen-month hiatus until the next season begins!
Finally, I’m looking forward to seeing how many orders come in from all of you next week!  We still have beautiful plants on our availability, and as fall approaches, YOU can look forward to sales picking up again as the weather cools and gardeners look forward to planting again.  I hope you have a fabulous week!
